Make art accessible to all.
Allow users with no travel possibilities to visit galleries around the world.
Allow galleries to create virtual tours for permanent or temporary exhibitions.
Lead UX designer and UX researcher on the creation of the prototype of the app.
I created a survey to reach a large group of users to understand what are people approaches on museums and what they like to see there. This helped me highlight the pain points.
I identified two main user groups through research from which I created personas:
one who has money but leaves far from art galleries
and a second one who leaves in big cities but does not have money to go.
I also conducted a competitive audit to study 3 existing apps and highlight what funcionalities should be considered in the virual tour gallery app.
I created a user journey map and 2 storyboards (big picture and close-up) to better understand the user's accesibility and feelings towards the solution.

For the homepage I prioritized the new information on the galleries and easy access to the virtual tour. The sections are clear and there is only a simple menu to help to user find the information easily.
The design followed the user research findings: accessibility, intuitive navigation and clear CTAs.
I conducted 2 rounds of unmoderated usability study (5 people) focusing on how to find a gallery, start the visit, see the artwork details, save them and consult the saved artworks list. The findings were taken into account to improve the design.

I conducted another round of unmoderated usability study (5 people) on the high-fidelity mockups to improve the design as shown below.
I came up with possible next steps for the project:
A usability study could be conducted to improve other existing features.
New features have already been identified along the process and could be included.
A new competitive audit could be conducted to identify new trending features.
As my first UX UI project, I learnt a lot throughout the process on methodology, tools and also the aim of each research step. This first overview helped me understand all of the reasoning and how to understand the data. Also I got familiar with Figma and the design model.
